KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 26 — Police Link GISBH Leadership Fanaticism to Abuse and Financial Control of Followers
Extreme devotion to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISBH) leadership has led followers to sacrifice their well-being and that of their families, resulting in victims of abuse and financial exploitation. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain noted that followers remain trapped in Malaysia due to their financial dependency on detained leaders and frozen accounts.
Authorities have re-arrested 34 individuals linked to GISBH, and a four-day remand extension has been granted for 24 top leaders to assist in investigations under the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act. Police are also probing GISBH’s business practices tied to distorted teachings of Islam.
The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is set to remove online content related to GISBH upon police request. Recent raids have revealed extensive GISBH activities, leading to the closure of eight private Islamic schools linked to the group.
In Negeri Sembilan, local authorities monitor suspected GISBH businesses, while four individuals in Kelantan have been remanded to aid investigations under the Printing Presses and Publications Act.
