LHDN Receives 107.5 Million E-Invoices Since August, Positive Response from Taxpayers

KUALA LUMPUR — Since the launch of the e-invoicing system on August 1, the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has received 107.5 million e-invoices, marking a strong response from taxpayers. According to Rasyidah Che Rosli, LHDN's Director of the Tax Operations Department (E-Invoice Division), more than 35% of taxpayers have voluntarily adopted the system.

E-invoicing, which digitally records transaction details such as product type, quantity, price, and tax, is mandatory for all taxpayers involved in commercial activities, with implementation occurring in phases based on revenue thresholds.

Looking ahead, LHDN aims to include 14,000 taxpayers in the second phase starting January 1, 2025, focusing on those with an annual turnover of RM25 million to RM100 million. To aid the transition, LHDN offers guidelines, support, and an e-invoice microsite, along with a dedicated help desk for technical assistance.

Taxpayers can submit e-invoices via the MyInvois Portal or use an API to integrate with their own systems.
