Family Escapes Unscathed as Detached Trailer Tyre Strikes Car on Pahang’s Jalan Jerantut-Maran

JERANTUT, Dec 23 — A family of three and a friend narrowly avoided injury when a tyre detached from a trailer and hit their car on Jalan Jerantut-Maran, near the Sungai Salan bridge, on Friday evening.

Mohamad Afiq Syahmi Mohd Ramlan, 28, was driving with his wife, their two-year-old daughter, and her friend when the tyre rolled toward their vehicle around 6:30pm.

Afiq swerved left to avoid the tyre, but it struck the front and right side of the car. He immediately stopped, and all passengers safely exited the vehicle.

The trailer, which failed to stop, was later intercepted by other road users, with the driver unaware of the detached tyre. Afiq filed a police report, as did the trailer driver. Jerantut police confirmed both reports.

Afiq expressed relief that no one was injured, saying, “I’m grateful everyone is safe.
