Atalanta Reclaims Serie A Top Spot, Roma Hammer Parma 5-0
Atalanta surged back to the top of Serie A with a thrilling 3-2 win over Empoli, inspired by Charles De Ketelaere’s brace, including a last-minute winner. Ademola Lookman also scored, as Gian Piero Gasperini’s side edged Napoli to reclaim the Christmas top spot. Empoli had briefly led through Lorenzo Colombo, but Atalanta’s resilience and De Ketelaere’s late heroics sealed the victory.
Meanwhile, Roma bounced back from a shock loss to Como, thrashing Parma 5-0. Paulo Dybala scored twice, while Alexis Saelemaekers, Leandro Paredes, and Artem Dovbyk added to the scoreline, sending Roma up to 10th.
Elsewhere, Venezia escaped the bottom with a 2-1 win over Cagliari, while Juventus ended a four-match winless streak, defeating Monza 2-1. Inter Milan, in third, will host Como later this week.
