KLCC Property Denies RM10B Bandar Malaysia Land Deal, Theme Park Plan Scrapped

KLCC Property Holdings Berhad (KLCCP) has denied reports that it is purchasing the Bandar Malaysia land for over RM10 billion, clarifying that it is not involved in the transaction. The statement comes in response to a report by The Edge, which suggested KLCCP was acquiring the 486-acre site in two phases from Bandar Malaysia Sdn Bhd (BMSB), as BMSB faces debt obligations.

Separately, theme park operator Sim Leisure Group has announced the termination of its agreement with BMSB to develop an Escape theme park on the Bandar Malaysia land. The park, originally planned for 75 acres under a 15-year lease, has been cancelled, and BMSB must refund RM350,000 in security deposits and RM1 million in advance payments to Sim Leisure.

Bandar Malaysia, a large-scale mixed-use development in Kuala Lumpur, is being redeveloped from the former Sungai Besi Air Base into a hub for residential, commercial, and transit-oriented projects.
