Bukit Aman’s Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) has uncovered a TikTok account, "Malaysia Shopping Mall," using AI technology to impersonate renowned medical expert Prof Datuk Dr. Noordin Darus. The account promoted health products without Dr. Noordin’s consent, using his voice and video.

CCID Director Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf urged the public to be cautious and skeptical of social media ads, as AI technology is being used to create misleading content featuring the voices and likenesses of prominent figures. He also warned against dubious health product promotions, which may involve counterfeit goods that could harm consumers.
