In two successful operations, the General Operations Force (GOF) seized nearly RM1 million worth of illicit goods in Kelantan. On Sunday, GOF officers intercepted two vehicles in Kampung Dalam, Tumpat, uncovering 400,000 smuggled cigarettes valued at RM473,000. One suspect, aged 28, was arrested, while another fled after abandoning his vehicle. The cigarettes were believed to be en route to the local market. The case is under investigation under the Customs Act 1967.

In a separate operation on Saturday in Rantau Panjang, Pasir Mas, GOF Battalion 9 intercepted a lorry carrying 435 fake luxury handbags worth RM435,000. A 34-year-old man was arrested for smuggling the counterfeit goods from Thailand. Both cases are being investigated by the authorities, with the goods handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living for further action.
