KOTA KINABALU — Sibuan Island will reopen to tourists on Wednesday, following the removal of World War II bomb debris. Authorities, including police and Sabah Parks, completed the clearance after a controlled detonation on Saturday.

The unexploded bomb, found last Tuesday, was disposed of by mine clearance divers from the Naval Region 2 Command (MAWILLA 2) using the Blow in Place (BIP) method. The bomb, estimated to be from 1945 and weighing around 250 kg, caused no damage to property or the marine environment.
