KUCHING — A 16-year-old unlicensed driver has been arrested following a fatal crash on Jalan Stutong Baru that left five dead.
The teen lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve into the opposite lane where it collided with two motorcycles and two cars. Four victims, aged 16 to 45, were pronounced dead at the scene, while another 16-year-old succumbed to injuries at the hospital.
The incident is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving causing death. Police are seeking public assistance for further information.
