LONDON — Liverpool’s Premier League title push stumbled to a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest, while Manchester City’s resurgence faltered in a 2-2 draw at Brentford.
Forest took the lead early through Chris Wood, but Liverpool dominated possession and equalized with a header from substitute Diogo Jota. Despite creating 23 shots, a stellar performance from Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels kept the score level, preserving Liverpool’s six-point lead over Forest. The draw also allows Arsenal to close the gap to four points if they win their north London derby against Tottenham today.
In west London, City were on track for a win after Phil Foden’s double, but Brentford mounted a late comeback, with Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgaard scoring in the final 10 minutes. The result leaves City in sixth, 12 points off the top.
Elsewhere, Chelsea’s winless run stretched to five matches as they drew 2-2 at home to Bournemouth, salvaging a point with a last-minute free-kick from Reece James. West Ham, under new manager Graham Potter, won 3-2 against Fulham, moving up to 12th.
