Kedah Declares February 11 an Official Holiday for Thaipusam
ALOR SETAR — The Kedah government has declared February 11 (Tuesday) as an occasional holiday in celebration of Thaipusam.
Kedah deputy state secretary Datuk Dr Nadzman Mustaffa confirmed the announcement in a letter to state and federal department heads, citing the Holidays Act 1951. The holiday was approved following discussions in the state executive council, as confirmed by Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor on January 22.
