"Schumacher Family Appeals 'Too Lenient' Sentences in Blackmail Case

The family of Michael Schumacher has appealed the sentence of those convicted in a blackmail plot, calling the ruling “far too lenient.” A German court recently sentenced a 53-year-old man to three years and his son, 30, to a six-month suspended sentence for attempting to extort €15 million (RM70 million) by threatening to release photos and videos of the F1 legend.

A security guard, who helped the duo by copying and selling the footage, received a two-year suspended sentence. The family has appealed, with Schumacher’s wife Corinna emphasizing the breach of trust and calling for stronger punishment to deter future crimes."
