KUALA LUMPUR: Thirty-three motorists were fined for obstructing traffic around Bukit Bintang on Friday night.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) enforcement officers also towed six vehicles to the council's depot for documentation.

The vehicles had been parked illegally, blocking traffic—an offence under the Road Traffic Rules and the Road Transport Act.

Last year, it was reported that DBKL fines were set at RM50 if paid within 15 days. The fine increases the longer offenders take to pay, up to a maximum of RM100.

"Enforcement will continue at other hotspots. Motorists are reminded to abide by the law," DBKL said in a Facebook post.
