KUALA LUMPUR — Authorities have ramped up efforts to capture a three-meter crocodile spotted near Sungai Klang, now on its sixth day of search. The Federal Territories Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) has set a second trap near Seputeh, where the crocodile was last seen, while the first trap remains near a shopping mall.
Perhilitan director Ishak Muhammad confirmed that live chickens are being used as bait to lure the crocodile. Drones are also being deployed to track its movements. Authorities urge the public to avoid the river area until the animal is captured.
The crocodile first appeared on February 20 near Gardens Mid Valley and KL Eco City, attracting attention. Rain and rising river levels on February 23 made the search more challenging, but the animal was later spotted two kilometers upstream. Efforts to capture the crocodile continue, prioritizing public safety.
