HANOI — ASEAN must create a strong, resilient supply chain ecosystem to overcome growing geostrategic challenges, including recent US tariffs and retaliatory measures, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

In his keynote at the ASEAN Future Forum 2025 in Hanoi, Anwar acknowledged the complexity of ASEAN's potential to benefit from global supply chain shifts amid rising power rivalries. He emphasized the need for fair distribution of trade and investment gains among member states to avoid widening disparities.

He also called for a new model of trade integration that embraces global trends in environmental sustainability, addressing the significant economic gaps within the region and ensuring no ASEAN nation is left behind in economic growth.
