SINGAPORE — Singapore’s Minister of State for Health, Rahayu Mahzam, assured parents in Parliament today that they will not face fines if they report their children for vaping. Rahayu clarified that authorities take a nuanced approach when parents come forward to help their children quit vaping. She encouraged MPs to report cases where parents mistakenly faced fines. Over the past two years, the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) handled 4,000-5,000 vaping-related cases, with only one involving a parent reporting their child, who was given a warning and referred for counselling. Parents can contact the Health Promotion Board’s QuitLine for support without fear of enforcement action.
