KOTA KINABALU — Tun Ahmadshah Abdullah, the ninth Yang Dipertua Negeri of Sabah, passed away at a private hospital last night at age 78. The state government has declared a one-day mourning period with flags flown at half-mast. Tun Ahmadshah served two terms as Sabah’s governor from 2003 to 2010 and held several key state administration roles before retiring in 2002. His family has asked the public to pray for him.
