South Korea’s defence ministry dismissed reports of US plans to withdraw troops, confirming no discussions have taken place. With around 28,500 US troops stationed to deter North Korea, Seoul emphasized the alliance remains stable and vital for regional peace. Both countries continue close cooperation, following a recent cost-sharing agreement to maintain the US military presence.
