Indian PM Narendra Modi declared Pakistan will face serious consequences after the deadly April 22 Kashmir attack, accusing Islamabad of backing the assault.

In response, India suspended the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty, cutting water flow to Pakistan from rivers under its control. Modi warned Pakistan’s army and economy would bear the cost of terrorism.

Despite this, Pakistan’s finance minister claimed the treaty halt poses no immediate threat to its water supply.
