A syndicate exploiting fleet cards to obtain subsidized diesel was uncovered in a raid at an illegal storage site in Taman Sri Muda. The operation, conducted by the Selangor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry and Selangor police, led to the arrest of five local men, aged 30-45, who were caught transferring diesel from a bonded lorry to a tanker. The suspects, working as lorry drivers, were using fleet cards to purchase subsidized diesel at petrol stations around Shah Alam, which was then sold on the black market. Authorities seized 7,000 liters of diesel, nine vehicles, and various equipment. The premises lacked a valid license to store controlled diesel, and the drivers had no proper documentation for the fuel. The case is under investigation, and authorities are seeking the syndicate’s mastermind. The operation follows a month-long intelligence gathering effort.
