Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad revealed that Kelantan's diabetes and high cholesterol rates have risen above the national average, according to the 2023 National Health and Morbidity Survey.

Diabetes affects 16.3% of Kelantan’s population, higher than the national 15.6%, while high cholesterol stands at 34.9%, surpassing the national 33.3%. Overweight and obesity rates are slightly below the national average, but high blood pressure cases are notably higher at 27.9%.

The ministry is promoting the ‘Agenda Nasional Malaysia Sihat’ to encourage healthier lifestyles and tackle these concerns.
