Inter Milan have appointed former player Cristian Chivu as their new head coach, replacing Simone Inzaghi ahead of the Club World Cup. Chivu, who recently saved Parma from relegation in his first coaching job, signed a contract until June 2027.
Chivu played six seasons at Inter, winning three Serie A titles and the 2010 Champions League. He takes over after Inter’s heavy 5-0 loss to PSG in the Champions League final. Inzaghi left to coach Al Hilal after a trophyless final season despite earlier success.
Chivu’s first game in charge will be against Monterrey in the Club World Cup next week.
