KUALA LUMPUR — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today that meaningful reforms in Malaysia’s governance system require time and support from coalitions beyond Pakatan Harapan (PH).
Speaking at the launch of i-Rise at Bank Negara, Anwar stressed that reform is a gradual process, urging patience and realism. He acknowledged PH's partnership with Umno and Barisan Nasional as crucial pillars in the reform journey, while noting that ongoing negotiation and engagement remain vital.
Amid internal party doubts, some PKR members, including Subang MP Wong Chen, have questioned the pace of reform. Wong recently announced a two-week break to reflect on his political future, voicing concerns over stalled institutional changes.
