SINGAPORE — Jetstar Asia will end operations on July 31, affecting over 500 employees in Singapore, parent company Qantas confirmed.
Laid-off staff will receive a retrenchment package that includes four weeks’ pay per year of service, a 2025 bonus, a thank-you payout, and extended staff travel benefits.
The company pledged full support, offering job transition help and potential roles within the Qantas Group and partner airlines.
The workers’ union (SMMWU) and government taskforces are also working to ensure fair compensation and assist with job placement, career advice, and financial aid.
