PUTRAJAYA — The Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) has received several suggestions to improve student travel safety following the tragic UPSI bus crash that killed 15 students.
Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir said one key proposal is to restrict student travel to daytime only, instead of at night, to reduce risks.
He also mentioned another bus crash involving UMPSA students early Tuesday, but thankfully no injuries were reported.
The UPSI tragedy occurred early Monday when a bus overturned at KM53 of the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding, Gerik. Separately, 13 UMPSA students survived an accident on the East Coast Highway later that night.
