KUALA LUMPUR — A 20-year-old e-hailing rider was seriously injured after being hit and dragged about 15 metres by a bus at a traffic light junction in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
The crash occurred around 6pm at the Jalan Masai Kong Kong–Jalan Berlian 12 intersection. Seri Alam police chief ACP Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the rider, who was on a Honda EX5, allegedly ran a red light and collided with a Hino bus driven by a 54-year-old man.
The rider was thrown to the road and dragged before the bus could stop. He is currently unconscious and receiving treatment at Sultan Ismail Hospital.
The bus driver was unhurt. The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
Police urge road users to follow traffic signals and ask any witnesses to contact the Seri Alam District Police.
