Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim praised Malaysia’s rise to 23rd in the IMD World Competitiveness Ranking 2025 — up 11 spots from last year — marking its best performance in five years.He credited the achievement to strong political will, effective reforms, and close collaboration between the public and private sectors, saying the progress “belongs to all Malaysians.”Malaysia’s improved trade performance, administrative efficiency, and investment environment were key drivers. The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) noted the country now ranks fourth globally in economic performance, with significant gains in government and business efficiency.MITI reaffirmed Malaysia’s goal to become one of the world’s top 12 most competitive economies by 2033 under the Madani Economy framework.The IMD ranking evaluates 69 economies based on economic performance, government and business efficiency, and infrastructure.
