Kelantan Police Chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat has raised concern over a spike in disciplinary and misconduct cases among police personnel, with 11 disciplinary and 30 investigation papers opened between January and May — a rise compared to last year.

He warned that strict action will be taken against any of the eight forms of misconduct, reaffirming the force’s zero-tolerance policy and commitment to justice and transparency.

Emphasising the importance of integrity to maintain public trust, Mohd Yusoff also reminded officers to strictly follow firearm safety rules under Part A144 of the IGP's Standing Orders.

Addressing rising mental health concerns, he called for regular physical and psychological fitness assessments, noting five suicide cases this year involving officers with no prior mental health records.

He urged supervisors to stay alert to early signs of stress and depression among personnel and to act swiftly to safeguard the well-being and morale of the police force.
