Flamengo delivered a thrilling second-half fightback to defeat Chelsea 3-1 at the Club World Cup on Friday, keeping South America’s unbeaten run in the tournament alive.

Chelsea led 1-0 at halftime through Pedro Neto, but Brazilian substitute Bruno Henrique turned the game around. He scored the equaliser just after the hour mark, then assisted Danilo for the go-ahead goal. Chelsea’s hopes faded when Nicolas Jackson was sent off minutes later.

Wallace Yan sealed the victory late on, ensuring Flamengo’s second win from two matches and putting them on the verge of last-16 qualification from Group D.

Flamengo coach Filipe Luis, a former Chelsea player, praised his team's belief and performance. Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca admitted the quick goals and red card left his side unable to recover.

This result follows Botafogo’s shock win over PSG, extending the unbeaten streak of South American clubs in the tournament to nine matches. Chelsea now face a must-win game against Esperance to stay in contention.
