Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has confirmed he will undergo shoulder surgery after the Club World Cup final, ending months of playing with a brace following a dislocation in November 2023.

The England midfielder revealed he’s reached his limit with the discomfort and inconvenience of the brace, saying, “I’m fed up with it constantly shifting during games.” The surgery, scheduled days after the final, may sideline him for up to 12 weeks, potentially causing him to miss the start of the La Liga season and England’s World Cup qualifiers in September.

Despite the injury, Bellingham scored in Madrid’s 3-1 win over Pachuca — their first victory under new coach Xabi Alonso. Reflecting on his brother Jobe’s goal for Dortmund the day before, Bellingham joked, “It’s 1-1 now, we’ll see who wins the tournament.”
