KUALA LUMPUR: CG Esports clinched the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Academy League (MAL) Season 3 title today after sweeping aside GamesMY Kelantan (GGMX) 4-0 in the Grand Final at a shopping mall.
CG won RM33,808 in prize money.
Earlier both CG and GGMX had secured promotion to the MLBB Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY).
CG booked their place in the title decider with a 2-0 win over GGMX in the upper bracket final on Friday, while GGMX overcame JP Niners 3-1 in the promotion playoffs earlier today.
CG captain Danial Fuad, aka CikuGais, admitted he was surprised by the dominant scoreline.
"I didn't expect us to dominate 4-0, especially after they had beaten JP earlier. We thought they would bring that momentum into the Grand Final.
"Our bigger target is to qualify for the M7 World Championship next year through the MPL MY Season 16," he said.
