France’s professional footballers' union (UNFP) has slammed FIFA and President Gianni Infantino for endangering players' health with an overloaded calendar, calling the expanded Club World Cup a "game of massacre." In a sharp statement, the UNFP accused FIFA of ignoring collective agreements that guarantee players three weeks of rest, instead pushing them into more high-stakes matches and risking injury and burnout.

The month-long Club World Cup, now featuring 32 teams, comes after a grueling season. The UNFP said PSG players, fresh off a Champions League win, are being denied needed rest, which could affect their performance in upcoming national matches. The union joins FIFPRO in calling out the schedule overload, warning players are nearing breaking point. FIFA has yet to respond.
