Malaysia may be newcomers to the CAFA Nations Cup, but FAM vice president Datuk Dollah Salleh believes the team is ready to cause an upset. Citing their 4-0 win over Vietnam, he praised the squad’s depth and mentality ahead of tough Group B matches against Tajikistan (Aug 29), Iran (Sept 1), and Afghanistan (Sept 4).
Dollah, a former national star, believes Malaysia's current generation is the best in years and capable of surprising even top-ranked teams like Iran. The tournament also serves as preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
