Leicester City have appointed Spaniard Marti Cifuentes as their new manager on a three-year deal, following the departure of Ruud van Nistelrooy after relegation from the Premier League.
The 43-year-old former QPR and Hammarby coach said it was a “privilege” to lead the club into its next chapter. Cifuentes was placed on gardening leave by QPR in April after guiding them to safety in 15th place.
Leicester kick off their 2025–26 Championship season at home against Sheffield Wednesday on August 10.
