Norwegian cyclist Tobias Johannessen said he’s “terrified” by the hateful messages he received online after causing Tadej Pogacar’s crash during Stage 11 of the Tour de France in Toulouse. Pogacar, trailing overall by 29 seconds, escaped with minor injuries and continued racing. Johannessen apologized, admitting he misjudged the move, but called the volume of threats he’s faced “very scary.” Similar abuse was directed at Bryan Coquard earlier in the race after a crash that injured Jasper Philipsen.
