KUALA LUMPUR: Two foreign men believed to be masterminds of a violent armed robbery and housebreaking gang were shot dead by police early this morning in Taman Pertama, Cheras.
The suspects, linked to over RM3 million in losses and attacks since 2022, were intercepted by Bukit Aman and Pahang CID teams during Op Aman 6. They attempted to ram the police and opened fire, prompting officers to return fire in self-defense.
Both suspects died at the scene. A search of their stolen Honda Civic revealed two firearms—a revolver and semi-automatic pistol—along with drugs and burglary tools.
According to Bukit Aman CID acting director Datuk Fadil Marsus, the gang targeted luxury homes in Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, and Pahang. The suspects were believed to be planning another robbery, given items like bolt cutters, gloves, masks, and weapons found in their vehicle.
Police are now hunting the remaining 13 gang members, all foreigners. While over 50 cases have been linked to the group, authorities suspect more victims have yet to come forward.
The public is urged to report any related incidents or suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
