Malaysia's new top anti-narcotics cop, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, has pledged a more aggressive, systematic, and comprehensive approach in the war on drugs, targeting everyone from street dealers to masterminds.

Assuming his role on July 21, Hussein announced that the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) will leverage advanced technology, including AI-powered drones, CCTVs, and scanners for profiling. He also emphasized stronger cooperation with other agencies like the Malaysian Armed Forces, Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency, and the Customs and Immigration departments, as well as closer collaboration with neighboring countries such as Thailand for operations and information sharing.
