Police have questioned three people over the break-in at the home of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's granddaughter in Bukit Ledang last Wednesday. No arrests have been made so far.

Kuala Lumpur acting police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad said investigations are ongoing to identify the suspects.

"Preliminary investigations found that the residence has closed-circuit television (CCTV) recordings , but no data could be obtained as it was only stored for 24 hours," he added.

It was previously reported that Dr Mahathir's granddaughter suffered losses of about RM1.8 million in the break-in, which was discovered by a domestic helper. The domestic helper found that the padlock on the back gate had been cut and thieves had entered the residence.

The house belongs to Dr Mahathir's son Mirzan, but was occupied by his daughter.
