Bandar Maharani Hosts National Month Launch, Honouring Johor's Legacy
Bandar Maharani, Johor, was chosen as the venue for this year’s National Month and Jalur Gemilang launch, recognising the state’s historical, patriotic, and economic contributions.
Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi called the event in Muar a symbolic tribute to Johor’s deep-rooted patriotism and its role in the independence movement. Launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at Dataran Tanjung Emas, the event saw key federal initiatives announced, including RM100 SARA aid, a new RM1,700 minimum wage, and reduced RON95 petrol prices.
Onn Hafiz praised the synergy between federal and state governments, highlighting Johor’s RM30.1 billion in approved Q1 2025 investments and 6.4% GDP growth in 2024. He urged Malaysians to embody the spirit of the Jalur Gemilang and uphold the legacy of independence.
“Let Johor be not only developed, but united and honourable,” he said.
