PARIS — Tadej Pogacar sealed his fourth Tour de France crown with a dominant 21-day performance, capping off a 3,400km ride that confirmed his status as cycling’s top force.
While Belgium’s Wout van Aert claimed the final stage win on Montmartre’s cobbled streets, Pogacar’s overall lead remained unchallenged after wet weather neutralised the stage's timings. Despite the safe cushion, the Slovenian still raced aggressively, finishing fourth on the day.
Pogacar, who previously won in 2020, 2021, and 2024, launched his title defense with wins at Rouen and Mur de Bretagne, before crushing rivals in the Pyrenees and Alps. His closest contender, Jonas Vingegaard, cracked during key mountain stages and finished over four minutes behind in second.
Debutant Florian Lipowitz of Germany claimed third, while young stars like Oscar Onley and Ben Healy impressed—Healy even wearing yellow for two days and winning the combativity prize.
The 2025 Tour will be remembered for Pogacar’s unmatched consistency, grit, and flair — a true champion’s ride from start to finish.
