Online Gambling Call Centre Busted in KL
Kuala Lumpur police raided a suspected online gambling call centre disguised as an office on Jalan Kia Peng yesterday. Thirteen people were arrested, including eight local men, three local women, and two Chinese nationals.
The raid, part of 'Op Dadu,' uncovered a syndicate that had been operating since early April, targeting the Indonesian market with workers earning RM3,000 to RM4,000 monthly. Police seized 14 computer sets, two laptops, and other equipment. The suspects face investigation under the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953 and the Immigration Act 1959/63.
