ROMPIN: Three people, including a three-year-old girl, were killed and four others injured in a collision involving two vehicles on Jalan Muadzam Shah-Bahau near Bukit Serok today.
The crash involved a car carrying a man, four women, and a toddler, which collided head-on with a four-wheel drive vehicle driven by another man.
The car was travelling from Bahau, Negri Sembilan towards Muadzam Shah, while the four-wheel drive came from the opposite direction.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said six firefighters from the Muadzam Shah Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 4.46pm.
"A woman was trapped in her vehicle and died at the scene. Six others, including the four-wheel drive driver, were injured and taken to Hospital Muadzam Shah for treatment. Two victims, an 18-year-old woman and a young child, died while being treated at the hospital's Emergency and Trauma Unit," he said.
Rompin district police chief, Superintendent Sharif Shai Sharif Mondoi, confirmed the incident. The identities of the three victims have not been released.
"The relationship between all victims, including the three who died, is still being investigated," he added.
The bodies were placed at Hospital Muadzam Shah and will be sent to Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) in Kuantan for post-mortem.
