World No. 8 Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai got off to a confident start at the China Masters with a straight-sets win over fellow Malaysians Wong Tien Ci and Lim Chiew Sien. The top national mixed doubles pair won 21-17, 21-12 in their opening round match at the Shenzhen Arena on Tuesday. The victory keeps their campaign on track as they aim for a deep run in the tournament. Soon Huat-Shevon will next face either Taiwan’s Ye Hong Wei-Nicole Gonzales Chan or China’s Gao Jia Xuan-Wu Meng Ying in the second round on Thursday.
