The Youth and Sports Ministry has rejected the Paralympic Council of Malaysia’s (PCM) move to suspend two-time Paralympic badminton gold medallist Cheah Liek Hou. The controversy began after Liek Hou publicly criticized PCM on social media over delays in cash incentives for Paris Paralympics medallists, expressing feelings of being "scammed." In response, PCM threatened legal action and considered banning him from future multi-sport events. Minister Hannah Yeoh clarified that while para-athlete registrations for events like the Paralympics fall under PCM’s authority, the ministry will not support efforts to suspend Liek Hou amid the dispute.
