SERI KEMBANGAN — The Malaysian Immigration Department detained 86 foreign nationals in raids on seven reflexology premises, suspected of offering immoral services, in the Klang Valley this evening.
Its Operations Division director, Basri Othman said in raids carried out simultaneously at several locations in Kuala Lumpur, Seri Kembangan and Kajang, 76 women and 10 men, aged between 21 and 32, were detained.
He said in the raids that started at 5pm, those arrested comprised 13 Myanmar nationals, Indonesians (21), Vietnamese (8) and Cambodians (4), adding that the raids were carried out as a result of intelligence for two weeks following public complaints against the premises involved.
“As a result of the monitoring conducted, we found that these premises were operating by offering immoral services to customers with a fee estimated at around RM200 to RM250,” he told the media at one of the locations of the raids here today.
Basri said that most of the customers were foreigners.
“All foreigners were arrested because they were found to have no documents, overstayed and some violated Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963 for violating their visa conditions.The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63,” he added.
