Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said focus will be given to education as it is the key to providing quality jobs for the younger generation.

SHAH ALAM — The Selangor government will continue to defend and empower the Indian community in the state so that the quality of life of this group can be improved, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said his team is in the process of preparing the Selangor Budget 2026, and this matter is among the recommendations that will be considered for tabling on Nov 14.

“Recently, I provided school assistance to 873 schools across the state. Of this number, a total of 98 Tamil National Type Schools (SJKT) had been given RM5 million in aid to improve their facilities and amenities.

“This is because I want all students in Selangor to study in a safe and comfortable environment, including SJKT students,” he said in his Deepavali 2025 message today.

Amirudin, who also wished everyone a Happy Deepavali, said the diversity found in Selangor is unique and is the foundation of the state’s success.

He said that in pursuing success and the ability to compete with developed countries in the Asian region, focus will be given to education as it is the key to providing quality jobs for the younger generation

“On behalf of the state government, I once again take this opportunity to wish Happy Deepavali to the entire Hindu and Sikh communities in Selangor.

“Enjoy these moments of celebration with your dear friends and family. And for those of you travelling out of the state, I pray for a safe journey to and fro for all of you,” he also said.
