After an exhaustive two-year global search involving over 50,000 auditions, HBO finally revealed the faces of the new Harry, Ron, and Hermione today. The three child actors, all newcomers from the UK, were introduced in a special live-streamed event at Warner Bros. Studios.
The series is intended to be a faithful decade-long adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s original books, with one season dedicated to each book. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner stated that the focus is on "unearthing the darker, deeper details" of the Wizarding World that were missed in the films. Production is set to begin in Scotland next month.
