India and the European Union have officially concluded negotiations for a historic Free Trade Agreement (FTA) today. The deal, which has been in the making for over 20 years, aims to create a massive economic bloc to navigate global uncertainties. Leaders from both sides announced the successful conclusion of the talks during a summit in New Delhi this morning.

The FTA is expected to boost trade in sectors like defense, worker mobility, and technology. It provides a strategic framework for both regions to reduce dependency on volatile markets. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen described India as a "trusted strategic partner" for the future of global trade.

Economists believe this deal will create millions of jobs and significantly lower tariffs for Indian exports to Europe. For the EU, it opens up one of the world's fastest-growing consumer markets. Both sides are now moving toward the formal ratification process, which is expected to be fast-tracked.
