Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced in Parliament today that the government has officially rescinded plans to implement mandatory diagnostic tests for six-year-olds entering primary school. The decision comes after significant public concern that such testing could be discriminatory and place undue psychological pressure on young children.

The Prime Minister explained that while the initial intent was to assess student readiness, the risk of children being unfairly labeled as "unqualified" was too high. This move is seen as a victory for parents and educators who advocated for a more inclusive and less stressful transition into formal education.

In other national news, the Malaysian government revealed that trade missions in 2025 generated over RM45.4 billion in export sales, signaling strong international confidence in the "Madani" economic framework. However, authorities are also dealing with security concerns as the National Registration Department (NRD) addresses sovereignty issues related to citizenship raised by the Sultan of Pahang.
