The Malaysian Ringgit opened lower today, trading at 3.9540 against the U.S. Dollar. The decline is attributed to stronger-than-expected manufacturing data from the United States, which has bolstered the greenback across global markets.

Despite the dip against the dollar, the ringgit showed resilience by gaining ground against other major currencies, including the Euro, the British Pound, and the Japanese Yen. Economists suggest the local currency is experiencing a "temporary correction" following a strong performance in January.

Bank Muamalat’s chief economist noted that while the ringgit faces short-term pressure, the overall trajectory remains stable. Investors are closely watching the upcoming central bank reports to see if further measures will be taken to support the ringgit's value in the ASEAN region.
